Cura Microblading - HEALING, RISKS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS

CuraMicroblading is the Curative Ink™ brand and style of Microblading techniques.  Microblading is a permanent tattooing technique where fine needles deposit pigment into the skin. Hairlike strokes mimic natural eyebrow hairs, creating a fuller and more defined look. 

• Day 1–2: Brows appear bold, dark, and sharply defined. Skin may feel tight, tender, and slightly swollen. Some lymph fluid may surface.
• Day 3–5: Slight scabbing begins. Brows may look patchy or uneven. Itching and flaking are common as the skin regenerates.
• Day 6–7: Peeling intensifies. Pigment may appear to fade significantly—this is part of the normal healing cycle.

• Most scabbing if any has shed.
• Brows may look lighter, uneven, or slightly muted in tone.
• Pigment is still stabilizing beneath the skin and hasn’t reached its final appearance

• Pigment has settled into the skin, revealing the true tone and shape.
• Brows appear more natural, with softened edges and balanced color.
•  Minor inconsistencies may be visible, which are typically addressed during the touch-up sessions. 

• Infection: from poor aftercare; can include bacterial, viral, or fungal sources.
• Allergic reactions: to pigments or topical anesthetics; may cause redness, itching, swelling, or rash.
• Granulomas: small inflammatory nodules forming around pigment particles; can appear months or years later.
• Pigment issues: uneven fading, color shifts, or migration under the skin.
• Poor aesthetic outcome: asymmetry, incorrect color match, or shape dissatisfaction.

Clients should avoid the procedure or consult a physician if they have:

• Active skin conditions: Eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis near the brow area.
• Blood disorders: Including hemophilia or clotting issues.
• Autoimmune diseases: That affect skin healing or increase infection risk.
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding: Due to hormonal changes and sensitivity.
• Recent cosmetic treatments: Like chemical peels, Botox, or laser near the procedure area. 

The FDA (Federal Food and Drug Administration) will at times publish information related to tattooing but it’s critical to note that tattoo inks, dyes and pigments have not been approved by the FDA and the health consequences of using these products are unknown. Tattooing involves inserting pigment into the skin using fine needles. This includes ISR, SMP, Microblading, Microshading, and Micropigmentation. It is considered permanent as pigment remains in the skin for years and may not ever fully fade without professional removal. It’s important to acknowledge you are receiving a procedure with lasting effects and accept responsibility for this decision.
