CURACARE

CuraNeedling Aftercare

General aftercare indicates that for the first 48 hours for all procedures please restrict physical activity, avoid being submersed in water such as when bathing or recreational water activities.  Avoid gardening and contact with animals.

Immediate Aftercare (Days 1–7)

  • Keep the area clean and dry: Gently cleanse with lukewarm water and pat dry—no scrubbing or soaking.
  • Avoid sun exposure: UV rays can interfere with healing and pigment blending.
  • No harsh products: Skip exfoliants, acids, or scented lotions on the treated area.
  • Do not pick or scratch: Mild flaking or dryness is normal—let the skin shed naturally.
  • Optional serums: If advised by your technician, apply healing serums sparingly to support recovery.

Ongoing Aftercare (Week 2 and beyond)

  • Moisturize regularly: Use a gentle, unscented lotion to maintain hydration and support collagen production.
  • Protect from sun: Apply SPF if the area is exposed to sunlight to prevent discoloration or regression.
  • Avoid aggressive treatments: No microneedling, chemical peels, or laser on the area until fully healed.
  • Monitor progress: Results may continue to improve for several weeks. Follow-up sessions may be recommended for deeper or older marks.

BE AWARE

Infection

Inadequate aftercare can potentially lead to bacterial, viral, or fungal skin infections.

Although many paramedical procedures result in redness, swelling and tenderness at the procedure site particularly in the first days, it's important to note that these symptoms can also be signs of infection.

Additional symptoms can include red streaks going from the procedure site toward the heart, elevated body temperature, or purulent drainage from the procedure site.

Seek medical care if you experience these signs and symptoms.
